Magnet school is accelerated. No normal classes there.

magnet schools vary on what activities they have but the main point is that the classes you will get are going to be harder than regular classes I don't know whether you are considering going to college but if you are I would recommend you to go to the magnet school just for the reason that the classes are harder that actually prepares you more to go to college than the regular classes

How do you write a proper professional email requesting to visit a Law School?
How do you write a proper professional email requesting to visit a Law School?
I want to visit the University of Maryland School of Law and I'm going to request using email. (am at work and can't call at the moment) how should I write this? how does this sound? To whom it may concern, I am a prospective student looking to attend law school for the Spring Semester. I have an interest in the University of Baltimore School of Law and would be interested in a visit for Month, Day, Year at 0:00pm. My email address in HelpMe@yahoo.com and my phone number is 123-122-4545 Thank you Me. So what do you think? be honest!!

Why don't you call the admissions office - they usually have tours and other info available to prospective students. An email is going to take days/ weeks to be responded to. And unless you are transferring from another law school - most law schools do not have spring admission - they start in the fall.

That sounds fine, this e-mail is not going to go into your admissions file or anything like that so you really have nothing to worry about, you can be as professional or as casual as you would like! Only thing you might want to note, you said you want to start in the Spring Semester and many law programs only offer a fall start so you may want to double check that. And during the summer a lot of schools offer "self tours" that you don't even need to make an appointment for so waiting and calling at lunch might be more efficient.

I have been contacted by the University of Maryland Baltimore County for hockey and they informed me that to put yourself in position to the university you must achieve a GPA of 3.0. UMBC looks for 1800+ SAT scores and 28+ ACT scores for scholarship awards.

They should! If you for for a interview be very polite and shake the persons hand and all that jizz your skool sounds preddy harsh aye!

Of course they will aceept you the question is will your parents pay for you to go to a private school just to not listen and talk? Private school is very expensive and more often than not your learning the same thing. I would suggest you suck it up and obey the rules at school and save your parents a good 10 grand.

Honestly, this is hard to determine. I would suggest doing some research on your private schools of choice, and see what is prohibited and the requirements(private schools work under their own rules; subject to change at anytime). Behavior is an issue, though. But if your grades are up to exceeding standards, you should have a fair chance. BE SURE TO WOW THE DEAN(PRINCIPAL)WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR ORIENTATION. GOOD LUCK!

Baltimore, Maryland Questions?
Baltimore, Maryland Questions?
I'm moving to Baltimore as soon as I graduate from school with my nursing degree. I would like some pointers. Some of my questions are: - What is an affordable (moderately) safe neighborhood for apartments/row houses? (I'm single w/ no kids and would like to live in Baltimore City) - About how much can I expect to pay for housing? - How would you rate the cost of living with other large cities? (I live in Atlanta now so a comparison to Atlanta would be great) - Overall is Baltimore a good city for a young upcoming professional like myself? - Is there any additional info you feel I should know about Baltimore? Oh yeah. I'm African American and would like to live in a neighborhood that is at least 20% (or more) African American. It would also help if there was a hospital nearby (since I'm a nurse).

As for your last question, I'd say most of the neighborhoods in Baltimore City would qualify on the at least 20% African American part. There are lots of large hospitals in the city, so that shouldn't be a problem either. Baltimore has a higher cost of living than Atlanta but then you'll make more money too, especially since hospitals tend to be more unionized in the Northeast Corridor than the rest of the country. As for which neighborhoods you'll like, that's going to depend on your likes and dislikes. There are plenty to choose from so come check them out. The safer neighborhoods tend to be east of I-83.
